Between the wars, the Szukits Publishing House of Szeged published the works of noted local authors (such as Zsigmond Móricz, István Tömörkény and Gyula Juhász), as well as numerous teaching aids (language books and university curricula). After a gap of several decades following the Second World War, the press was re-established in 1992. It publishes books on a variety of themes, embracing not only quality popular fiction, but also specialised literature, philosophical and classic literary works, and books for young people. Published authors include: Isaac Asimov, Clive Barker, Greg Bear, S. Beckett, Gregory Benford, David Brin, Dale Brown, F. Forsyth, A.D. Foster, Dean R. Koontz, Jack Kerouac, Arthur Miller, R.A.
