Year of Foundation:
The Füst Milán Foundation for the Translators of literary pieces was called into being by the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in accordance with the will of Milán Füst's widow, née Erzsébet Heifer. The president of the Foundation is a member of the Academy, Dr. Miklós Szabolcsy. The members are Dr. Edit Röder lawyer and Dr. György Boytha. The goal of the Foundation is to facilitate the popularization of the Hungarian poetry and prose through translations and literary studies. The task of the Foundation is also to edit Milán Füst's works. The stipends for the translators of the Füst Milán Foundation are awarded to candidates through public applications. Stipends have been awarded to 66 translators from 25 countries up till now. The board of trustees has awarded the Füst Milán Grand Prix to eight well-known translators (from 6 countries).
