Address of Publishing House: Year of Foundation: 1995 ISBN: It was founded by the JAK - Attila József Circle to set up and operate the Hungarian Translation Workshop, designed as a studio for foreign translators working on renditions of Hungarian literary works into their own respective native tongues. Grants can be applied for through the Foundation. Applications must contain a working plan, with the material to be translated, a CV, list of the translator’s published work, time required for completion of the project (from 2 to 8 weeks), and if possible, the publishing contract for the translation in question. Translators are also able to make use of the Translation Workshop’s facilities without a grant, at their own expense. The Workshop has word processors, typewriters and a photocopier for the translators’ use. Its library contains the most important foreign language and Hungarian reference books, dictionaries, Hungarian literary works and periodicals. The Translation Workshop is situated 130 kilometres south-west from Budapest on the northern shore of Lake Balaton at Balatonfüred.
