Its book publishing program makes accessible classic works and contemporary standards of the human sciences, as well as writings from the cream of Hungarian sociologists and philosophers. Authors from Adorno through Fejtô, Foucault, Kierkegaard and Proust to Wittgenstein. The Atlantisz Book Island in Budapest, situated at the heart of the city’s most important pedestrian thoroughfare and also in the university building, is practically the only international bookshop of sociology and exhibition space of its kind in Eastern Europe. The Atlantisz Book Island acts as the principle or exclusive Hungarian distributor for several Western publishing houses.
