Corvina was founded in 1955 with the express purpose of publishing Hungarian works in foreign languages. Though remaining faithful to the original pupose, Corvina has nevertheless undergone dramatic changes. It is still a publisher of art books, souvenir books in Hungarian and foreign languages, as well as handsome cook books, and continues its traditional line of Hungarian literature in foreign languages. A few years ago Corvina began to publish high-school text-books, college texts as well, especially in the fields of literature, art history, history and linguistics, and numerous language books.
