The Magyar Képek {Hungarian Pictures} Publishing House and Photoarchive represents some leading Hungarian photographers. The collection mainly covers Hungarian topics (landscapes, towns and villages, Hungarian history, culture, arts and folk applied art. The main publishing activity is the presentation of Hungarian districts, towns and regions (such as lake Balaton) in the form of albums of colour photographs. The art publications present specific periods of art history or contemporary artists. One of the most important works of this kind has been a photographic monograph on the Hungarian coronation regalia. In the fields of art and industrial history, important works have appeared on the Herend Porcelan Manufacture, the Budapest market halls, and the European garden-city movement. The books normally appear both in Hungarian and in foreign language variation.
